Hyderabad: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday criticised Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for high fuel price in Telangana and explained the promises of the party in its manifesto.

Addressing public meetings at Parigi and Choppadandi assembly constituencies, he said, “The price of petrol and diesel in Telangana are Rs 109.66 per litre and Rs 97.82 per litre respectively while in Assam they are priced at petrol Rs 97 per litre and diesel Rs 91.01 per litre.”

Recalling the promise of Chandrashekar Rao to make a Dalit community leader the Chief Minister in 2014, he said, “KCR has failed to keep his promise. Recalling that Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself comes from the Backward Community, he reiterated the BJP’s promise to make a BC CM in the state if the party is voted to power.”

Referring to the incident of MIM Assembly floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi threatening a police officer, he said, “The BRS failed to take any action against him but if it had happened in Assam, I would have ensured that a strict action was taken for threatening police officers.”
