Jana Sena gets glass tumbler as poll symbol
The party announced that it would contest the elections and has named its first candidate.
Vijayawada: The Election Commission has allotted ‘glass tumbler’ as the election symbol to the Jana Sena. The Commission on Sunday allotted symbols to 29 political parties registered with it.
Jana Sena founder president K. Pawan Kalyan will spend more time for the party from January and stay in Amaravati to be available to leaders and cadres to strengthen the party, sources said. The party announced that it would contest the elections and has named its first candidate.
Welcoming the allotment of the symbol, Mr Pawan posted on his Twitter page, “I thank the Election Commission for giving us the glass tumbler as our party symbol. Personally, for me, the glass tumbler has many memories from my childhood and it is a common man’s identity in our country.”
Jana Sena leaders said that the EC had shown several symbols to the party and Mr Pawan chose the glass tumbler, as it is related to the common man. They asked the cadre to popularise the symbol among the masses and said it would be easy to remember as glass tumbler is a common household item.
