Gram panchayat elections: II-phase of polls on January 25 in old Nizamabad

Nizamabad: The stage is set for the second phase of gram panchayat elections in undivided Nizamabad on January 25. The district administration in Nizamabad and Kamareddy have made all arrangements for polling on Friday.
Counting of votes and names of elected sarpanches, Upa sarpanches and ward members will be done on the same day.
In Nizamabad district, of the 144 gram panchayats, 33 panchayats elected their representatives unanimously. Polling will be held for 109 panchayats including 841 wards. 452 ward members were unanimously elected and no election will be held in three wards. In Bodhan division, polls will begin from 7 am on Friday.
In Kamareddy district, elections will be held in Yellareddy division. General election observer M. Veerabramhaiah for undivided Nizamabad district supervised the arrangements. Police department have deployed 1,231 personnel for election duties.
