Bengaluru: On a day when Congress president Rahul Gandhi landed in Belagavi to resume the second leg of his election campaign, the social media unit of BJP released video clippings and taunted the leader through tweets on Saturday.

Taking a leaf out of Congress’ national campaign against Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, the tweets raised questions about ‘goonda raj’ of Congress leaders and listed five questions for Mr Gandhi. They include: “Former AICC president, Sonia Gandhi, said she would not allow diversion of Mahadayi water to Karnataka. Do you condmn it? Under Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s government over 3500 farmers committed suicide. Is it not clear that it is the most anti-farmer government in the state? Peace loving people are heckled and assaulted by your goondas. Do you condemn this?"

These questions were followed by a message: "The BJP welcomes @OfficeOfRG to Karnataka. We ask Rahul Gandhi to condemn the goondaism of his partymen in Karnataka. If he remains silent on it, we will have to presume that goondas in his party have his approval. #Goongress #RahulMustAnswer."

To top it, the BJP posted a two minute video of farmers from Athani who lambasted Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for not providing any facility to them because they belong to a constitutency represented by opposition party members.

BJP leaders also took a potshot at Mr Gandhi for mispronouncing Kannada words while reciting a vachana of Basavanna. Union minister, D.V. Sadananda Gowda, said “on listening to Mr Gandhi, now we realise why Kannadigas willl turn towards the BJP.”
