VIJAYAWADA: AP BJP chief Somu Veerraju took a dig at former BJP senior leader Kanna Lakshminarayana for switching his loyalties to Telugu Desam.
Speaking to the media in Madanapalle of Annamayya district on Friday, he underlined that switching loyalty had been part of Lakshminarayana’s agenda.

Otherwise, had there been any genuine differences, Lakshminarayana would have brought it to the attention of state leadership or raised the matter with the central party.

Moreover, Veerraju observed, any leader of importance would have worked for the development of the party under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and got BJP to power in Andhra Pradesh in the ensuing polls, instead of leaving the party.

The AP BJP chief said while PM Modi is practising politics of development and welfare in the country, in Andhra Pradesh, two family parties are vying with each other to personally gain from sand, liquor, red sanders and minerals of the state.
He maintained that there has been no development in AP ever since it got bifurcated in 2014.

Veerraju accused both the ruling YSR Congress and the opposition Telugu Desam of diverting the attention of people so that they do not think of welfare and development.
