Pinarayi Vijayan goes live on Facebook
More than 7000 persons turned up to ask questions to the CPM leader.
Kochi: Close on the heels of CM Oommen Chandy conducting a live interaction with the Facebook audience, CPM’s former state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan also went live on Thursday.
More than 7000 persons turned up to ask questions to the CPM leader. Unlike CM who used his own Facebook page to interact, Pinarayi chose LDF Keralam Facebook page. Pinarayi also used the opportunity to raise funds for the election campaign.
Pinarayi's Facebook team compiled the questions he received during the day and the specific questions were presented by an anchor. The first question was related to corruption allegations leveled against the UDF government.
“LDF will take stringent action against the offenders. He stressed that there will not be any political vendetta but law will have to take its due course,” Pinarayi said.
Pinarayi spoke on various topics such as small scale industries, jobs for the youth and the issues of NRIs. He stressed that CPM is against political murder or violence. “Whenever LDF reigned, the state was against violence and the number of crime was under control”
Communist party evolved over the years when it comes to campaigning. During the earlier years CPM used folk songs and street dramas to promote itself. Now, since people are more comfortable with social media and it is a popular tool, the party chose it too, he said.
On liquor ban, he said that LDF was against banning liquor and wanted to reduce liquor consumption rate. “If liquor is banned, it will allow spurious liquor business to thrive. It will be a threat to our law and order,” he said.
