2,124 cyber cases in Telangana since June 2, 2014
Mr Reddy said Cyber Labs will soon be set up in all the districts and new commissionerates across the state.
Hyderabad: As many as 2,124 cyber cases have been registered since the formation of Telangana state in June 2014.
The state government informed the Legislative Assembly on Friday that local police stations are being equipped to register and investigate cyber offences since cyber offences have been witnessing a sharp increase in recent times.
Home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy said that courses on cyber crime investigation, case studies, CDR analysis, social media investigation, IP address tracing are being imparted during induction level and in-service at TS Police Academy.
He said the CID has taken up massive capacity buildings programmes to develop investigation skills of police personnel on cyber offences.
Mr Reddy added the government sanctioned Rs 5 crore for procurement of software and hardware for control and command centres in districts and CID.
He said Cyber Labs will soon be set up in all the districts and new commissionerates across the state.
