Congress netas will talk to SP Muddahanumegowda

Answering a question on rumours of PM Modi contesting from Bengaluru South, Gowda said that it would be a proud moment.

Bengaluru: Reiterating that he would be filing his nomination in Tumukuru on Monday, former Prime Minister Mr H.D. Deve Gowda said that Congress leaders would take care of rebels in their party.

Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, Mr Gowda said that he had spoken to Congress leaders about filing his nomination and he would convince Tumkuru Congress leaders on why he was compelled to contest from there.

“Meanwhile, Congress leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwar spoke to me and assured me that they would  talk to sitting MP Muddahanume Gowda, who has decided to contest as an independent. The party will also field a candidate in Bengaluru North,” he said.

Answering a question on rumours of PM Modi contesting from Bengaluru South, Mr Gowda said that it would be a proud moment.

Meanwhile, speaking to reporters, Chief Minister Mr H.D. Kumaraswamy sarcastically remarked that he was happy about the BJP supporting  Independent candidate in Mandya Sumalatha Ambareesh.

“The rebellion (in Congress) will be quelled and it is going to be smooth for us,” the chief minister added.
