Bengaluru: Lashing out at the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for forgetting all his  claims of providing a clean and transparent government before coming to power and said due to lust of power he had rewarded Reddy brothers who had looted  Karnataka in the Rs 35,000 iron ore mining scam with eight Assembly tickets for  the May 12 elections.

Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, Senior leader and media incharge of the Congress Randeep Singh Surjewala said that Mr Modi and BJP President Amit Shah  had come to the rescue of the “Bellary Gang” and tainted B. S. Yeddyurappa by coercing with CBI that had closed six important cases of illegal iron ore exports  from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh and absolved the Reddy  brothers.

Posing series of questions to the Modi government he asked why the union government was protecting, shielding, covering the iron ore scam and the accused by shutting down the cases and how Mr Shah announced Mr Yeddyurappa as the chief ministerial face.

Mr Surjewala asked why Mr Modi and Mr Shah were shielding the accused in “loot of public money and plundering natural resources and the reason for giving BJP tickets to Reddy brothers and their chariness.

“The BJP was using CBI for wrong purposes and forced the investigative agency to close as many as six cases filed against them including Reddy brothers,” he charged.
