Gangula, Bandi looting public through match fixing: Gone Prakash
KARIMNAGAR: Former MLA and APSRTC chairman Gone Prakash made sensational comments against Backward Class Minister Gangula Kamalakar and BJP state chief Bandi Sanjay here on Wednesday.
"The two joined hands and extorted around Rs 10 crore from the traders and business community for the Kalotsavalu conducted last year at the Ambedkar stadium in Karimnagar," he alleged, and added that they did this with the help of the police.
"Both Kamalakar and Bandi Sanjay also collected crores pertaining to the smart city works by way of commissions," he told the media.
He said minister Kamalakar invited several actors, singers, TV artists from Tollywood, delegates from Andaman and Nicobar islands as also some foreigners from Israel for the Kalolsavam investment.
Prakash Rao said that the government used to sanction funds for the Kalotsavalu and festivities. Police officials were not involved in the collection of funds. Why did Kamalakar, who owned huge properties, not spend money from his pocket, he asked.
Now, in the name of opening of the Cable Stayed bridge, the minister is planning to invite qawali artistes from Lucknow. He might want to collect money on this count too, he said.
“When the illegal transport of sand and granite was taking place unabated in the erstwhile Karimnagar district, why is Bandi Sanjay not questioning the local MLA, minister Kamalakar and the state government,” he asked.
Prakash Rao said city mayor Sunil Rao collected huge amounts in the form of commission from the Smart City project and constructed for himself a palatial building with 11 ACs and two lifts in the heart of Karimnagar city.
“If these leaders do not mend their ways, I would complain against them to officials of the Enforcement Directorate or to the Income Tax department with evidence,” he has warned.
