Rajamahendravaram to be developed as Green City': MP

 KAKINADA: Rajamahendravaram MP Margani Bharat said on Saturday that the city would be developed as a ‘Green City’ by planting saplings. He said that the ‘Haritha-Yuvatha’ and ‘Go-Green Challenge’ programmes have been taken up and saplings have been planted.

He said at a meeting in Rajamahendravaram that he promoted an ecological awareness programme among the youth. He received the Indo-Arab International Excellence Award in Dubai at the World Trade Fair this week. He said that the award was given to him for his role during the past four years in educating the youth about ecological conservation. The International Conference held on the occasion deliberated on the theme ‘Vasudhaika Kutambam’. He said the encouragement was given by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and the active participation of the people of Rajamahendravaram, especially youth, brought him the honour, which he is dedicating to the city.

He came to Rajamahendravaram from Dubai on Saturday. His followers and YSRC cadres welcomed and felicitated him. He said that he would strive hard to make Rajamahandravaram the Green City in the state. He said that many of the students of various colleges had responded to his ecological call and planted saplings. The MP thanked the citizens of the city, students and the college management.
