HYDERABAD: Congress former MP V. Hanumantha Rao hailed the initiative by the Opposition parties to promise to work together and bring down the Narendra Modi government which was using Central agencies like the ED and the CBI to unseat Opposition governments.

He said that the privatisation of public sector companies, which Jawaharlal Nehru had started, has resulted in the loss of about 2 lakh jobs for BC, SC and ST communities. Having understood the people’s problems during his Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi had promised to conduct a caste-wise census to provide reservations according to their share of the population, he added.

Hanumantha Rao said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was implementing BC Bandhu with an eye on elections. Rao had not implemented the farm loan waiver, and Muslims were insecure because of the threat to remove their reservations, he said and the Congress fight had started in this context.
