IT raids on Lakshman politically motivated: Karnataka CM

Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday claimed that the Income Tax raids on his close associate and KSPCB Chairman Lakshman were politically motivated.

“The Centre is targeting only Congress leaders through the Income Tax Department. The BJP feels it will gain politically if I-T raids are conducted on Congress leaders. But BJP leader Yashwanth Sinha too has said that opposition leaders are being targeted by the I-T Department. Why no raids have been conducted on Mr Yeddyurappa, Ms Shobha Karandlaje or Mr Jagadish Shettar,'' he demanded.
