Around 200 Congress, BJP activists join BRS in Kamareddy
Kamareddy: Around 200 Congress and BJP activists resigned from their parties and joined the BRS party in the presence of the government whip and Kamareddy MLA Gampa Govardhan on Tuesday. The MLA welcomed them, mostly women from Ambaripet, Gopalpally and Muthyampet villages in Domakonda mandal into the party fold.
Speaking on the occasion, Gampa Govardhan said that activists and leaders from the opposition parties were showing interest in joining BRS as they were impressed with the developmental activities and welfare schemes taken up by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. He called upon the newcomers and party cadres to give a thumping majority to KCR, who will contest from the Kamareddy Assembly constituency.
