Revanth challenges KCR to Kodangal poll battle
Hyderabad: TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday challenged Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to contest against him in Kodangal, if he was confident that he had worked for public welfare and development of Telangana.
Addressing party cadres in Kodangal, he said, “If KCR has given double bedroom houses to the poor, three acres to Dalits and delivered promised unemployment dole to youth, he should come here and contest against me. Having promised to adopt Kodangal and provide water for irrigation to every acre here, the father-son duo has cheated the people here.”
Calling on Kondangal residents to review developmental works under BRS rule, he said: “How much funds did Siddipet, Gajwel and Sircilla get compared to Kodangal? If proper funds were given, why did junior colleges, Krishna water, Krishna-Vikarabad railway line and cement factories not come up here?
“We had brought in a polytechnic college in Kosigi at a time when even bringing in an Intermediate college was considered difficult. The buildings for Intermediate colleges in Kodangal and Maddur were built by us,” he said.
He accused the Chief Minister of leaving Kodangal dry by shelving the Narayanpet-Kodangal lift irrigation project altogether and not completing the Palamuru-Rangareddy lift irrigation scheme.
“The CM, who promised free education from KG to PG, did not even bring Intermediate colleges to Doultabad and Bomraspet mandals,” he said.
Attacking Chandrashekar Rao, allegedly for saying he secured Telangana and he would now lead the nation, Revanth Reddy said, “You cheated the people of the state and failed to bring water, funds and jobs to the youth. Instead of getting others to speak, I am calling KCR to take me on in the political fray here. KCR does not take such challenges and just rests at home.”
Several BRS sarpanchs, deputy sarpanchs and former public representatives also joined the Congress in the presence of Revanth Reddy.
In another development, Revanth Reddy met Harivardhan Reddy along with Vajresh Yadav, party candidate for Medchal, and asked them to work for the party. Yadav accompanied TPCC senior vice president Mallu Ravi and went to the house of Harivardhan Reddy and asked them to work together.
