Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader and finance minister T. Harish Rao on Friday called on people to reject Congress in the November 30 elections and warned that if the Opposition party is voted to power it would mean the end of Rythu Bandhu, ad 24-hour free power supply to farmers.

“Should we be electing the Congress which has thrown Karnataka into complete disarray after winning there and is not able to keep its promises,” he asked.

Harish Rao was addressing a series of BRS road shows in several constituencies. Addressing the gatherings, he said the support for BRS at the rallies and public meetings were making Congress worried about the public support to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who is set to score a hat-trick of victories with success in the November 30 elections.

He said that Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge had stated that Telagnana state was a handout of the Congress.  If this was so, was independence to India a handout from the British, he said. “This is the same party which cannot build roads, provide drinking water or power in states where it is in power,” Harish Rao said.

Speaking in Siddipet constituency which he represents and where he is contesting from in the elections, Harish Rao said government hospitals in the constituency have been developed while educational institutions opened by the government mean that people from Siddipet no longer have to go to other towns and cities for education.

“Those who are yet to get houses will get them in the next term of the BRS government with special focus on this issue. I never worked for myself but for the people of the constituency. People should retain faith in BRS and vote for us,” he said.
