VISHAKHAPATNAM: Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan met top TD leaders of  Visakhapatnam and held hour-long discussions on false votes, deletion of names from voters list etc, here on Saturday.

JS political affairs committee chairman Nadendla Manohar and corporator Murthy Yadav were with him. On behalf of TD, former ministers Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy, MLA Velagapudi Ramakrishna and district party president Palla Srinivasa Rao participated in the discussions.

Pawan Kalyan explained to them the genesis of his party, how youth in Telangana were getting “attracted” to his ideology and who were now working as second-rung leaders of the BRS.

Stating that the merger of the Praja Rajyam with the Congress helped in the formation of Telangana, Pawan Kalyan said he felt Andhra was at loss due to the bifurcation and hence decided to work for the “welfare” of AP. The triangular alliance of TD, BJP and JS worked and Chandrababu Naidu became chief minister in 2014, he noted.

He said the TD lost the elections in 2019 due to lack of coordination and this led to the emergence of the YSRC.

“Now let us strategically fight and form the government in the next elections,’’ Pawan Kalyan told the TD leaders.

Pawan Kalyan said there was large-scale deletion of names from the voters’ list and he would take the issue to the attention of the Centre.

TD vice-president Pasarla Prasad said Pawan Kalyan asked the younger leaders of TD to be more active and coordinate with the Jana Sena in the ongoing fight against the ruling party.

BJP vice-president Vishnu Kumar Raju met Pawan Kalyan and had an exchange of ideas.
