Hyderabad: The people of Telangana wanted to have a change and decided in favour of the Congress party, said Karnataka deputy chief minister and party leader DK Shivakumar. During an interaction with the media in Hyderabad on Saturday, he said that he had visited a number of constituencies in the state, before the Congress campaign and could realise that people have decided, "Enough is enough, It's time to change to a national party."

"Once the Congress is elected, the new Cabinet will take immediate steps to implement the guarantees. The party's guarantees are not to woo the voters but for a social change and economic change," he said.

"People of Telangana have been suffering for long as the government is pickpocketing them. No measures have been taken to control the price rise of essential commodities. People are finding it difficult to afford even the basic necessities. Hence the Congress party has decided to come up with the guarantees which is a role model for the entire country. Even the Prime Minister has picked up it," added the Congress leader.
