BJP leaders R Ashok, actress-politician Tara, former Speaker K.G. Bopaiah, Appachchu Ranjan, S.A. Ramdas, Go Madhusudan and M Rajendra participated in the rally before he filed his papers.
Mr Simha who holds a master degree in mass communication and journalism, is a writer and columnist who belongs to the Vokkaliga community. Speaking to reporters, he said, “I will go to the people highlighting my work for them so far. I enjoy good ties with the people of my constituency which the Congress-JD(S) coalition cannot spoil.”
Mr Ashok said, “Deve Gowda was the prospective candidate for the Mysuru-Kodagu constituency but former CM Siddaramaiah, who has not forgotten his anguish over his defeat in the assembly elections in Chamundeshwari to a JD(S) candidate, has succeeded in preventing Mr Deve Gowda from getting the ticket. The invisible hands of the Congress are working overtime to defeat Deve Gowda and his grandchildren (Nikhil Kumaraswamy and Prajwal Revanna),” he claimed adding, “There is no conflict in the BJP.”
