Several national leaders will join the Telugu Desam election campaign in the coming days.
Vijayawada: In a boost to N. Chandrababu Naidu’s efforts to return to power, several national leaders will join the Telugu Desam election campaign in the coming days.
National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah, TMC chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, NCP chief Sharad Pawar, former Union minister Arun Shourie and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav have confirmed their participation in the TD’s campaigning in the coming days.
While Mr Farooq Abdullah will be accompanying Mr Naidu in his election meetings on Tuesday, Mr Kejriwal will address poll meetings in Vijayawada on Wednesday. Both Ms Banerjee and Mr Kejriwal will take part in the TD’s canvassing at Vizag on March 28.
Mr Naidu has been making efforts to stitch an anti-BJP front at the Centre and brought several leaders of various parties ever since he severed ties with the BJP. The TD is finalising the schedule of other leaders.
It is learnt that Mr Naidu will also take part in the poll campaigning in other states in favour of friendly parties in the subsequent phases after the polls in AP on April 11 end.
