Will fight for red jowar MSP, says K Kavitha
The farmers were very aware of this fact and a majority of turmeric and red jowar farmers were with the TRS.
Hyderabad: Nizamabad Lok Sabha member Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Monday said the Congress and the BJP had provoked turmeric and red jowar farmers of Nizamabad district to file nomination papers for the Lok Sabha elections in an attempt to besmirch the TRS' image.
The Turmeric Board was the only issue which was pending and the BJP and Congress were trying to rake it up issue to gain in the elections, Ms Kavitha said.
The TRS MP said that as far as the minimum support price for red jowar was concerned, it was in the purview of the Central government and she would fight for the same.
The farmers were very aware of this fact and a majority of turmeric and red jowar farmers were with the TRS.
She said that even yoga guru Baba Ramdev of the Patanjali group had supporting the cause of setting up the Turmeric Board and had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for its constitution.
Appealing to the farmers not to fall into the trap of the BJP and the Congress, Kavitha said that if problems could be solved by filling nominations, farmers should file thousands of nominations in Mr Rahul Gandhi’s Amethi and Mr Modi’s Varanasi constituencies.
She assured the farmers that she would fight for their cause and succeed with their support after winning the elections.
