New Delhi: MPs and the Delhi government on Monday locked horn over the odd-even scheme. Cutting across party line, members of Parliament united on a point of self interest and sought exemption from odd-even scheme, mainly to attend Parliament.

The Delhi government made it clear that there would be no relaxation and that special buses were being provided for the MPs to reach Parliament. BJP MP, Mr Paresh Rawal who violated the odd-even scheme while coming to Parliament on Monday later aplogised to Delhi chief minister, Mr Arvind Kejriwal.

Congress’ Ghulam Nabi said “MPs should be exempted from the rule just for this session.” The Delhi government said the MPs who apologised for violating the rule would be pardoned and those who wilfully transgressing the scheme will be fined.
