Jarkiholi joining BJP to get kin Maha ticket: Satish Jarkiholi

Hubballi: Forest minister Satish Jarkiholi has alleged that his brother Ramesh is planning to join the Bharatiya Janata Party so that he can secure the party ticket for his brother-in-law Appirao Patil who is trying to contest from Chandgad Assembly constituency of Kolhapur district in neighbouring Maharashtra on a BJP ticket.
Addressing the media in Belagavi on Thursday, Satish said that Ambirao, another brother-in-law of Ramesh, who is said to be the mastermind behind the crisis, is also trying to help his elder brother Appirao who had lost the last election as an Independent from Chandgad. Asserting that the Bharatiya Janata Party lacks the required number of Assembly seats to topple the coalition government, Satish said Athani MLA Mahesh Kumatalli, who is loyal to Ramesh, has remained in the Congress and had campaigned for the party in the Lok Sabha elections despite his brother asked him not to do so.
“My brother is getting involved in unnecessary political activity. I have advised him and appealed to him not to quit the Congress. The high command will take a final decision on him,” Satish said.
He alleged that Ramesh has no specific commitments in politics and had taken a 'U' turn after claiming earlier that he will decide on his resignation after his visit to Bengaluru on Wednesday.
