HYDERABAD: Union minister G. Kishan Reddy on Friday charged Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao with “dereliction of duty” and “irresponsible behaviour,” for yet again planning to skip the Niti Aayog meeting scheduled in New Delhi on May 27.

Speaking to reporters, Kishan Reddy said the Chief Minister had skipped previous Niti Aayog meetings too. “This attitude is causing loss to the state. By not attending these meetings, the Chief Minister is making sure Telangana’s voice is not heard when opportunities arise.”

He said: “Instead of following with his confrontational attitude with the Centre, the Chief Minister should make use of every opportunity to make the state’s case and not just blame the Centre for everything that is going wrong with Telangana.”

Kishan Reddy said the Centre had always invited Chandrashekar Rao for Niti Aayog meetings and for other events as per protocol. “He never attends any of them. He does not have time to attend programmes such as inauguration of Ramagundam fertiliser plant, redevelopment of Secunderabad railway station, or national highways development programmes. But he does find time to go to Maharashtra and hold political rallies and meetings,” he said.
