Hyderabad: The curfew-like situation in the Old City and parts of Goshamahal division will continue for another two days.

The south zone police on Thursday advised shopkeepers to down shutters by 8 pm. Incidentally, most of them closed by 7.45 pm on Thursday as there were hardly any customers during the day.

There are over 3,000 pushcarts and kiosks who command an overall daily business turnover of Rs 5.50 crore.

Liquor shops and petrol pumps shut down their businesses even before the early closure announcement by the police.

There will also be a ban on protest rallies after 8 pm.

The south zone beat constables and personnel in Rakshak vehicles were directed by senior officials to ensure that all shops close by the stipulated time, police sources said.
