Implement women's reservation forthwith: Uttam
HYDERABAD: Former TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy demanded on Monday that the Centre implement the recently passed women's reservation bill immediately. He said the Congress would form a government in Telangana and implement the six guarantees announced by Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
Speaking at an event to spread awareness about the six guarantees, Uttam Kumar Reddy, along with former MLA N. Padmavathi, criticized the Modi government's proposed delayed implementation. He said the Modi government was using the bill as a propaganda tool and "jumla".
He said that if the BJP was serious about the Women's Reservation Bill, it could have passed it in 2014 itself as it had the required strength in the Lok Sabha.
