Vaastu delays HD Kumaraswamy's grand plans for North' takeover

Hubballi: Vaastu worries have come in the way of  state JD(S) chief,  H D Kumaraswamy renting a bungalow here as part of his plans to spend more time in the region and revive the party  in North Karnataka ahead of the coming Assembly elections.

Although  party leaders have shortlisted a few bungalows, they have not finalised one yet as Vastu experts have still to vet them and give their okay.  One eight-bedroom bungalow in Forest Colony seems to have caught Mr Kumaraswamy’s fancy, but as all its rooms and meeting halls are reportedly not Vaastu- compliant, party leaders are seeking some modifications on the advice of a few professors of Karnataka University, who are experts in the matter. They are also meanwhile looking at alternative bungalows in Badami Nagar and other places should the Forest Colony bungalow fail to measure up.  

"Mr Kumaraswamy has approved the bungalow in Forest Colony as it is  spacious and  located on the outskirts of the city. The marriage hall  in front of it can be used by the party for meetings as it can accommodate over 2000 people. But it will be finalised only after Vastu experts approve it," said party leader, Vasant Horatti, son of MLC, Basavaraj Horatti.

Mr Kumaraswamy’s presence in the region is expected to pacify  party workers, who have been feeling ignored by the JDS top brass. Many of the party’s leaders  deserted it and joined the Congress and the BJP during the previous Assembly and Lok Sabha elections owing  to its lack of focus on North Karnataka.

Seeing the growing discontent, the former Chief Minister has finally decided to spend more time in the North Karnataka region and boost the morale of  party workers ahead of the assembly elections which will be held in 2018.
