Telugu Mahila slams Roja for criticising Nijam Gelavali' yatra
Tirupati: Telugu Mahila state president Vangalapudi Anita has objected to tourism minister R.K. Roja’s criticism of Nara Bhuvaneswari for starting the “Nijam Gelavali” yatra, offering support to families of individuals who have lost their lives following the arrest of Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Speaking to reporters at Naravaripalle on Wednesday, Anitha underlined that 150 persons had lost their lives across the state due to their inability to cope with the unlawful arrest of Chandrababu Naidu. She commended Naidu’s spouse Bhuvaneswari's initiative of going on a bus journey to console the affected families and pledge solidarity with them.
The TD mahila president said the thoughtless remarks of Roja have drawn public outrage and they would cause the minister’s downfall.
Pointing out Roja's political history, Anita said that Roja had contested elections on Telugu Desam ticket twice. She even touched the feet of Bhuvaneswari for support.
The TD mahila president characterised Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy as a person who had leveraged his mother and sister for political gains, only to abandon them after coming to power.
