The AIADMK ministers hit back saying Rajinikanth has only been posturing and not really got anywhere near to launching into politics.

Chennai: Tughlak editor S Gurumurthy has incurred the wrath of the AIADMK leadership for yet another statement he made at his magazine's 50th anniversary celebration at Tiruchi on Sunday. His assertion that Tamil Nadu would witness its good days and positive change only when superstar Rajinikanth enters politics, did not go well with the ruling party leaders.

“Tamil Nadu will change for the good only through its people... Only Rajinikanth's political entry can change Tamil Nadu and not Article 356 of the Constitution,” he had said at that Tughlak function.

The AIADMK ministers hit back saying Rajinikanth has only been posturing and not really got anywhere near to launching into politics. “First let Rajinikanth come into politics and we will see the impact thereafter”, said Fisheries Minister D Jayakumar, reflecting what many of his colleagues, including Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami has been saying often times.

And this is not the first time that Gurumurthy got into hot weather with the supposedly friendly AIADMK leadership. In a series of tweets during the RK Nagar by-election in December 2017, he had termed the CM and Deputy CM as 'impotent leaders' and 'weak men', drawing angry backlash from the ruling party members.
