Hyderabad: AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge said that the Congress would establish "Indiramma Rajyam" in Telangana on December 9, which would offer social justice to the people besides empowerment of weaker sections and land for the landless, and restore Hyderabad to its former glory.

Campaigned for Congress candidates in Sanathnagar and Kalwakurthy on Saturday, Kharge said that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had promised to convert Hyderabad into Istanbul but had shattered the dreams and aspirations of the people.

"While the Congress made Hyderabad an IT hub, the BRS, BJP and AIMIM delayed Metro Rail construction by creating obstacles. Despite this, the Congress government executed the first phase successfully," Kharge said.

He alleged that 10 years of Rao's misrule has resulted in bad roads, potholes, waterlogging and flooding in Hyderabad. "Congress rule has resulted in the construction of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad and the longest elevated road — the P.V. Narasimha Rao Expressway. The Congress will bring back the glory of Hyderabad," he promised.

Stating that the Rao government's hallmarks were 'commission and corruption,' Kharge said, "They have pushed back Telangana's progress and development by 10 years. Congress party's six guarantees shall ensure a Prajala Telangana."
