Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday delivered, in Telugu, some of his punchiest criticisms of BRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.

Speaking at Toopran in Gajwel, where Rao is contesting, and in Nirmal constituency, Modi’s comments in Telugu sought to energise the party cadres. Normally limited to using the phrase “naa kutumba sabhyulaara (members of my family)," Modi switched to Telugu several times. “Modati saari Telanganalo BJP prabhutvam erpatu kaanundi (for the first time, BJP government will be formed in Telangana),” he said.

Modi also asked three questions of Rao in Telugu.

 “Prajalaku kalavani mukhya mantri manaku avasarama? Sachivalanyaniki 10 samsavatsaralu raani mukhya mantri kavala? Farmhouse ku parimitamaina mukhya mantri kavala (Do we need a Chief Minister who never meets people? Do we want a CM who did not go to the Secretariat in 10 years? Do we want a CM who restricts himself to his farmhouse?).”

Among the other phrases in Telugu Modi used were: Congress, KCR iddarito jagrattaga undandi, BJP maatrame Telangana pratishta penchutundi (beware of both Congress, KCR, Only BJP will increase Telangana’s prestige);

Samajika nyaayam BJP thoney sadhyam (social justice will be possible only with the BJP); Modi gari guarantee antey purti aye guarantee (Modi’s guarantee means a guarantee that will be fulfilled) and Petrol, diesel dharalu taggala vadda? (Should petrol, diesel prices be reduced or not?).
