Jagga Reddy blames BRS for TD’s Telangana re-entry
HYDERABAD: Sangareddy Congress MLA Turpu Jayaprakash ‘Jagga’ Reddy on Monday claimed that the Telugu Desam had started to intensify its activities in Telangana after Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao-led BRS forayed into Andhra Pradesh recently.
“The TD is not active in Telangana. Within a few days (of the BRS launch), the TD started its party programmes in Telangana. The BRS may not influence people in Andhra Pradesh but the TD is likely to impact voters in Telangana as they have a significant vote bank,” Jagga Reddy said.
He accused Chandrashekar Rao of betraying the people’s Telangana sentiment by launching the BRS and cited the same for giving TD a chance in the state.
“A serious political activity will take place in Telangana following Naidu’s entry into the state,” Jagga Reddy said.
He also said that when the Congress was in power, they provided funds for minority welfare. But, the BRS government in Telangana only allocated `120 crore for minority welfare, he said.
