Hubballi: Congress leaders distributed sarees to attract more women to Rahul Gandhi’s convention held in Hubballi on Monday. The party workers loyal to Karnataka state forest development corporation chairman Nagaraj Chabbi allegedly distributed sarees among the women before the rally.

A plastic carry bag containing a saree, with a poster carrying photographs of Rahul Gandhi, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president Dr G Parameshwar were distributed among the women.

Sources said that Congress workers distributed the sarees by visiting the doorstep of thousands of households. The move has triggered widespread condemnation after photos of these sarees went viral on  social media.

The Bharatiya Janata Party  leaders alleged that Congress leaders are trying to mobiles more crowds through these tactics as they have failed to get enough response from the public.
