KKMC writes to Telangana ERC over compensation

Hyderabad: The Kisan Kheth Mazdoor Congress, a frontal organization of TPCC has requested the TS Electricity Regulatory Commission to establish a committee of farmers, their representatives and local electricity officials to look into the issue of compensation to farmers whose land is being used for laying of transmission towers and lines in the state.

KKMC chairman and former MLA M. Kodanda Reddy, along with other office bearers, submitted a memorandum to ERC on Wednesday.  

Mr Reddy said that the KMMC should have the mandate to negotiate and arrive at a compensation package for all the affected people in the state. He requested the ERC to take initiative and write to the state government to formulate a policy.
