APCC happy with success of Vijayawada meeting

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Gidugu Rudra Raju on Wednesday described their Jai Bharath Satyagraha programme at Vijayawada a grand success.

“The meeting should be an eye opener for those who have been criticising Congress in AP,” he observed.

Addressing media here, Rudra Raju maintained that Congress has a strong vote bank in all 26 districts of AP. Congress leaders and workers will get in touch with all the voters and instil confidence among them about the party.

The APCC chief said soon after completion of Karnataka assembly elections, Congress will organise a public meeting in Visakhapatnam against privatisation of the Visakha Steel Plant. Party senior leader Rahul Gandhi will address the meeting, he stated.

Rudra Raju said Andhra Pradesh is passing through a difficult phase. He felt people must become aware of the situation and bring about a change in politics.
