HYDERABAD: BRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao announced that the BRS will function on a full scale in Maharashtra within a month after the constitution of the party committees from village-level to state-level. The party committees will be formed exclusively for farmers, women, youth, students, Dalits, among others. The party will hold a mega farmers' rally in Maharashtra with over 10 lakh farmers with the main slogan of "Ab ki baar, kisan sarkar", he stated while addressing a meeting at Telangana Bhavan on  Wednesday. Several local leaders and workers from various political parties in Maharashtra joined the BRS in his presence.

Rao said the BRS was "born to introduce the Telangana model" of welfare schemes and development programmes to the rest of the country. He said when Telangana could implement Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, free power to agriculture, purchase of entire food grains from farmers for MSP, irrigation to every acre etc, why can't Maharashtra, which is richer than Telangana implement.

"There is no dearth of funds in Maharashtra. In fact, Maharashtra is richer than Telangana. Maharashtra's capital Mumbai is known as the financial capital of India. The state has abundant natural and financial resources. Despite this, there is shortage of power, irrigation and drinking water in Maharashtra. This proves that the successive governments in Maharashtra had miserably failed to provide even basic needs to people," Rao said. He said the BRS political march in Maharashtra will begin with upcoming zilla parishad elections. He urged the party leaders and workers who joined the BRS to take the Telangana model to every doorstep aggressively and seek people's support to the BRS.
