Chennai: BJP seeks action against TMMK activist
The person speaking in the video, appears to be addressing a meeting of the ‘Tamilnadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam.’
Chennai: The BJP has demanded appropriate action on an activist allegedly from ‘Tamilnadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam’ for declaring that he would have beheaded Prime Minister Narendra Modi and killed Home Minister Amit Shah for coming up with a legislation on triple talaq.
“I happened to see a video today, which I received on Whatsapp. The person speaking in the video, appears to be addressing a meeting of the ‘Tamilnadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam.’ He openly declared that he would have beheaded the Prime Minister and would have killed the Home Minister for coming up with a legislation on Triple Talaq,” says Narayanan Thirupathy, BJP state executive member and media coordinator.
The person, according to Mr. Narayanan, also mentioned that the Parliament would not look like a Parliament and it would have been attacked for enacting such laws. “He claims that he is not afraid of anything and asks the Intelligence of the State to take note of the same, and again repeats that the Prime Minister would be killed,” he said and added that this is nothing but seditious speech.
“This not only is a threat to the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, but also a threat to democracy in the country, and a threat to the Parliament. This is a criminal offence under Section 124A of the Indian Penal Code as it amounts to seditious speech,” the BJP leader said and added that he had preferred a complaint with the police on the issue.
Also, the person invoked religion, and incited people in the name of religion, thereby creating enmity between different groups on religious grounds and this is an act prejudicial to the maintenance of harmony.
