Shivakumar to Take on Kumaraswamy in Ensuring Assembly Session
Shivakumar Accepts Challenge and Recalls Apology in Past Debate with Kumaraswamy
Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar said he is ready to take-on Janata Dal Secular leader and former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy over their contributions on the floor of Assembly in the ensuing Assembly session with relevant documents to support discussion.
He told reporters in Bengaluru on Thursday that he welcomed that his invitation had been accepted by H.D. Kumaraswamy for an open debate on their respective contributions as elected representatives and a discussion should not take place on a television channel and all television channels have access to the discussion on the contributions they made.
“Let him (H.D. Kumaraswamy) come with documents on his contributions and I will come with my set of documents for the discussion,” he said and asked Kumaraswamy not to “fire in the air.”
Shivakumar said he had accepted Kumaraswamy’s challenge for public debate in the past and even now ready to accept the challenge. In the previous encounter with Kumaraswamy, Shivakumar said, Kumaraswamy had to tender an apology.
Over renovation of his chamber in Vidhana Soudha drawing flak from the Bharatiya Janata Party, Shivakumar said renovation has been taken-up owing to lack of adequate space and to project the image of Bengaluru city and the nation.
