Hyderabad/Nizamabad: The November 30 elections is a battle between the strong leadership of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and a rag-tag team of leaders from Opposition parties, BRS leader and minister T Harish Rao said on Friday. The outcome will determine whether Telangana will continue on the strong path of development laid by the BRS government, or face uncertainty if any other party is voted to power.

Harish Rao said “KCR’s agenda is all about farmers, while the opposition parties’ agenda is nothing more than heaping abuse on the Chief Minister. Abusing is easy, but it is KCR’s leadership that gave the state 24-hour power supply, rise in IT and industrial investments and rapid strides in agriculture.”

Alluding to the controversies surrounding the proposed AP capital of Amaravati, Harish Rao said, “The word in the real estate sector is that if KCR does not return to power, Hyderabad could turn into another Amaravati.”

He was addressing leaders and workers from the Congress who joined the BRS on Friday, at Telangana Bhavan. Those who joined the BRS included TPCC former secretary Singireddy Somasekhar Reddy, his wife AS Rao Nagar corporator Singireddy Sirisha and Ravi Kumar, popularly known by his onscreen name of Bitthiri Sathi, and others.

Earlier, addressing a party workers meeting in Ibrahimpatnam, Harish Rao, said it was the responsibility of every BRS leader and worker to inform people about the development and schemes of the state government.

In Sangareddy, Harish Rao said that all surveys indicated that the BRS would win with a thumping majority and form government for the third time. “People have witnessed development at their doorsteps and have decided to bless BRS,” he said at an ‘Alai Balai’ programme at Vatpally in Andole constituency.

Harish Rao said that Congress was known for deception and the BRS for confidence. Opposition parties were trying to destabilise Telangana state, he alleged.

He said Karnataka state was a classic example for misrule of the Congress. He accused the Congress of copying the BRS’ schemes.
