The minister claimed the BJP\'s Hunsur candidate, A H Vishwanath had the support of the backward classes in the constituency.
Mysuru: While admitting to meeting Janata Dal (Secular) leader G.T. Devegowda on Monday, minister B. Sriramulu has described it as a courtesy call.
“He is a senior leader of the Mysuru region and so naturally, I sought his support for the party. Leaders from other parties too have sought his support. He will give a good message soon,” he added, speaking to reporters here on Tuesday.
The minister claimed the BJP's Hunsur candidate, A H Vishwanath had the support of the backward classes in the constituency. "We have come up with a strategy to ensure Mr Vishwanath's victory. After Chief Minister, B S Yeddyurappa visited Hunsur, we are seeing a different response. All the people of the backward class communities are backing us. Mr Vishwanath is a simple man. While the Congress is spending huge money on its campaign and doing politics, he is not," he claimed.
Mr Sriramulu said he had no idea if would be made deputy Chief Minister post the byelections, but claimed the people wanted him to have a good position in the government.
