Hyderabad: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi said that if the BRS was voted to power again, farmers’ land would be grabbed by party leaders in the name of Dharani portal, youth would not get jobs, corruption would further rise and debt burden of the state would increase manifold.

She alleged that only Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was working from the farmhouse at present; if the BRS was re-elected, the Cabinet will function from their farmhouses.

Priyanka Gandhi's campaigning in Kodangal on Monday electrified the atmosphere in the constituency from where TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy is contesting.

Her speech was received with much enthusiasm by the people who recalled her striking resemblance to her grandmother and late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Whenever she talked about Congress bringing "Indiramma Rajyam" into Telangana, it drew loud applause and cheers from the people.

Priyanka Gandhi started her speech with "Jai Bolo Telangana" and the people reciprocated with "Jai Bolo Telangana" electrifying the atmosphere. She heaped praises on Revanth Reddy saying that she came to know how much he cares about the people when she discussed issues facing Kodangal with him.

Asserting that the dreams of Telangana people had been shattered, the Congress leader said there was corruption in the BRS government from the top to bottom and no project including the Kaleshwaram irrigation project, was completed fully as BRS leaders executed these projects with the sole intention of looting public money.

"All big leaders in the BRS will sit in farmhouses and run the government if the BRS is voted to power again. The poor in Telangana will become poorer while the ruling party BRS will become richer," she said.

Priyanka Gandhi on Monday campaigned for Congress candidates in Bhongir, Gadwal and Kodangal. Addressing the election rallies, she alleged that the entire government will run from the farmhouse, if BRS is voted to power again.

"The land, liquor and sand mafia will rule the state. Your lands will be grabbed. There will be no job opportunities for youth," she said.

Appealing to people to vote for the Congress, she listed out the Six Guarantees announced by the party for the benefit of all sections.

"In the last 10 years, all the big BRS leaders have built huge mansions and farmhouses, while the poor and middle class are suffering a lot. The BRS government has nothing to offer for BCS, SCs, STs, middle class and poor. All their policies are for the benefit of big business people only," she said.

She alleged that whether the BJP or BRS, their policy is to just stay in power and become richer. "When elections come, they start poll management. They should be taught that Telangana people are not for sale," the Congress leader said.

Alleging that the BJP supports the BRS in Telangana, while the BRS supports the BJP in Delhi, she said their third friend Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM supports both in the state. MIM fights in 40 to 50 seats in other states, but in Telangana it fields candidates in only nine seats, she said.

"All these three parties are on one side and the Congress is on the other side," she said.

In Kodangal public meeting, Priyanka Gandhi said the BRS government in Telangana and the BJP government in Delhi came to power at the same time 2014, and both the governments were adopting anti-poor and anti-farmer policies.

"Chandrashekhar Rao failed to fulfil his promise on Rs 1 lakh crop loan waiver while Narendra Modi did not come forward to waive off loans of farmers but waived off loans of thousands of crores of loans of his industrialist friends," she said.

Priyanka Gandhi reminded that Sonia Gandhi granted statehood to Telangana with a hope that it will be "Prajala Telangana" (people's Telangana) but the BRS government made it as "Dorala Telangana" (feudal lords) in the last nine years.
