Naidu to resume political activity with stress on PR system from mid-December
Vijayawada: Telugu Desam president Nara Chandababu Naidu would resume his political activity from the second week of December.
The former CM would mainly target the Jagan Mohan Reddy-led state government, citing the alleged failure of the Panchayat Raj system. He would cover Srikakulam, Kakinada, Narasaraopeta and Kadapa.
According to Telugu Desam sources, Naidu would get in touch with community leaders, NGOs and others to win their support for him and expose how the YSRC government “diluted the Panchayat Raj system and made them starve for funds.”
Naidu will be touring north Andhra, coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions later, to meet the people and build the tempo against the YSRC.
The TD leadership hase finalised the first leg of Naidu’s political tour and identified issues to be raised at various meetings.
However, his political activity is subject to word from the AP high court as also the Supreme Court where several cases against him are pending. The SC is expected to soon pronounce its final verdict on Naidu’s plea for quashing the FIR in the AP skill development corporation case. It would also take up the hearing on the AP government’s plea challenging the HC’s grant of regular bail to Naidu in the AP skill scam case.
Naidu is planning to visit several temples to seek the blessings for him and his party before he resumes his political activity in the run-up to the 2024 general elections.
He was away from public activities for nearly three months since his arrest on Sept 9 and judicial remand in the central jail.
Naidu might visit the Lord Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati from Dec 1 followed by the Kanaka Durga Temple in Vijayawada and other temples in Simhachalam, Srisailam etc.
