PM Must Apologise to AP People For Not Fulfilling Past Promises: APCC Chief
Vijayawada: APCC President Gidugu Rudra Raju has demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should give an answer to the AP people for his failure to fulfill the promises made in the state reorganisation act.
“The PM, during his state visit, must explain why Special Category Status was denied to AP. Only after expressing apologies to the AP people should the PM visit Tirupati,” he said.
The Congress observed Constitution Day at the Andhra Ratna Bhavan here on Sunday. APCC chief Rudra Raju and other party leaders paid floral tributes to BR Ambedkar and first PM Jawaharlal Nehru.
Rudra Raju said Prime Minister Modi failed to fulfill the promises he gave ten years ago. When Modi arrived in Tirupati as a PM candidate in 2014, he had promised that the BJP government would give SCS, a railway zone and central educational institutions for AP.
“Modi had also promised completion of the Polaram Project. However, ten years later, none of these promises have been fulfilled.”
