Telangana government didn't take loan to build projects: T Harish Rao
He said there was no stopping the Palamur, Dindi and other irrigation projects.
Hyderabad: Irrigation minister T. Harish Rao said the Telangana government had not borrowed to build irrigation projects, dismissing Opposition criticism that the government was driving the state into a debt trap.
“We did not take even a single paisa loan for irrigation projects till date. The entire amount is from our revenues. We spent Rs 22,000 crore on irrigation projects in two-and-a-half years as against Rs 39,000 crore by the Congress in 10 years. We will ensure water to one crore acres as promised by Chief Minister K, Chandrasekhar Rao,” he said.
He said there was no stopping the Palamur, Dindi and other irrigation projects. “The Justi-ce Brijesh Kumar Tribu-nal is doing injustice to Telangana. But we will bring pressure on the Centre and ensure that all pending irrigation projects are completed.”
