Centre trying to reduce powers of states, alleges CM Pinarayi Vijayan
Congress is still following a pro-corporate policy which is different from the views of CPM.
Thrissur: “The BJ-led government at the centre is trying to reduce the powers of the states,” Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said here on Tuesday. The union government was trying to scrap the federal structure of the country as per the RSS agenda of centralisation of powers, he said inaugurating the district conference of the CPM at Nattika here. “The NDA government is trying to destroy the secular fabric of the country. It wants to create an axis of countries that include India, USA and Israel,” he said.
Mr Vijayan, a member of the CPM’s politburo, said that there was no question of the CPM joining hands with the Congress to fight the BJP as the last party congress had taken such a decision. “Congress is still following a pro-corporate policy which is different from the views of CPM. In the name of taking on the BJP, the CPM and the Congress can’t build an alliance as its foundation would not be strong. The CPM is putting forth an alternative of secular and democratic forces in the country,” Mr Vijayan said.
