Grand old party's brand new love is terrorism: BJP
BJP attacked Congress over Chidambaram's statement on Afzal Guru's hanging.
New Delhi: Training guns on the Congress Party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday said that the grand old party's 'brand new love is terrorism', adding that all the political parties should stand against terrorism and separatism.
"We feel pity for the Congress Party. We even feel like laughing at the Congress. What is wrong with them? This grand old party's brand new love is terrorism, separatism and anti-national activities. I think it will fail with this brand new love," Minister of State (MoS) for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told ANI.
"Be it Chidambaram or the Congress Party or the prince of the party, they are seen with the separatists. Chidambaram's statement is that the punishment given to Ishrat Jahan and Afzal Guru is wrong. All the political parties should stand together against separatism and terrorism. If they don't stand together, the nation won't forgive them," he added.
Earlier, the BJP released two articles written by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in June 2013 and February 2014 when he was the leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, a day after former home secretary G.K. Pillai said the affidavit submitted to the Gujarat High Court in 2009 about LeT links of Ishrat and her accomplices was changed at the political level.
In his articles, Jaitley had accused the UPA Government of changing affidavit to implicate Narendra Modi, who was then Gujarat chief minister.
The then UPA Government had submitted two affidavits - one that the four, who were killed in an alleged fake encounter, were terrorists and the second saying there was no conclusive evidence- within two months in 2009.
