Chennai: In what could be a shot in the arm for DMK working president M. K. Stalin who has been opposing Governor Banwarilal Purohit’s review meetings in the districts, particularly on the state autonomy plank; the Governor was said to have conveyed to Mr. Stalin that he would “consider and take a decision” on his review meetings.

“When we said that we were showing black flags at his review meetings as this affected the state autonomy, the Governor said that he didn’t go to the districts to inspect but to ascertain the pace of development. I replied we can’t accept it because its against state autonomy. Then he replied, that he would ponder over it and decide,” Mr. Stalin told reporters on Tuesday evening after meeting Mr. Banwarilal Purohit at the Raj Bhavan here.

The leader of the opposition party in the TN Assembly met the Governor along with DMK’s former State Minister Duraimurugan, accepting an invitation from Mr. Purohit.
