Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi supremo and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said on Friday that he will “cause an earthquake in Delhi, with Hyderabad as the epicentre”, by floating a Federal Front to end the dominance of the Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress in national politics for the past 70 years.
He said his front will create political tremors across the country and free India from the “wicked hands” of the BJP and Congress. The CM’s statement about a “Congress and BJP mukt Bharat” was received with thunderous applause from nearly 13,000 party delegates at the 17th TRS plenary held here on Friday, as the venue reverberated with slogans such as, “Desh ka neta KCR” and “Desh ke liye aage badho KCR”.
A buoyant Rao, who normally ends his speeches with the words ‘Jai Telangana’, added ‘Jai Bharat’ this time.
Addressing the meeting after the plenary passed a resolution supporting Rao’s proposed Front calling for a movement to create qualitative change in national politics and according full powers to Rao to take party decisions, Mr Rao said, “In the next two to three months, I will unite all regional parties and form a federal front to take on the BJP and Congress, which have failed to deliver in the past 70 years.”
He said the Front’s plan will be “unveiled” in the next five-six months, adding that the Front’s aim is to empower states, because only strong regional parties ruling the country together will be able to do justice to the job.
