YSRC aims to defeat Naidu in Kuppam in 2024 elections
Kodali Nani said CM Jagan Reddy is transforming government schools on par with corporate institutions
VIJAYAWADA: YSR Congress leader and former minister Kodali Venkateswara Rao has lambasted the opposition for spreading “false stories” against the state government’s Amma Vodi scheme. He predicted that the YSRC will defeat TD leader Chandrababu Naidu in Kuppam constituency in the 2024 polls.
Addressing the YSRC Gudivada constituency plenary on Tuesday, he said Chief Minister Jagan Reddy is transforming government schools on par with corporate institutions.
“Is there any other chief minister in the country who has spent Rs 20,000 crore in three years for school sector development? During 14 years as CM, Chandrababu could not introduce even one medical college in AP. However, soon after Jagan became the CM, the present government set up 16 medical colleges in the state,” he said.
The former minister said Social Justice was ensured in the state by Jagan giving several government posts to the BCs, SCs, STs and Minorities. “During the Telugu Desam term, not a single ZP chairperson post was given to a BC leader,” he said.
He said TD had never given priority to welfare, unlike what the present government did. “CM Jagan has made BC leaders ministers and given them key posts in line with TD founder NT Rama Rao’s policy. In 2019, Chandrababu's adopted son Pawan Kalyan was defeated in two places while son Lokesh was defeated in Mangalagiri. The YSRC will defeat Chandrababu in the 2024 elections in Kuppam,” he said.
Former minister and Krishna district YSRC president Perni Venkataramaiah came down heavily on Nara Lokesh for comparing the houses given to the poor with bathrooms. “Lokesh can have big bathrooms built with corrupt money.”
He said CM Jagan has made the poor people's dream come true by giving each such family an own house to live.
