HYDERABAD: TRS working president and IT minister K.T. Rama Rao on Sunday said that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had scripted history in medical education by sanctioning several government medical colleges since assuming office in 2014.

He lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for sanctioning 'zero colleges' to Telangana in the last eight years.

Rao tweeted, “Hon’ble Telangana CM #KCR Garu has scripted History in medical education. Prior to 2014, in 67 years only 5 Govt medical colleges were set up in #Telangana. In the last 8 years, 16 new Medical colleges have been sanctioned & 13 more to be set up making it one medical college per District(sic).”

He shared pictures on progress of a few new medical colleges. He tweeted, “Wanaparthy, Ramagundam & Jagtial also almost completed. Suryapet, Mahabubnagar, Siddipet & Nalgonda Medical colleges have already started functioning.” Finally, he took a jibe at Modi with a tweet, “Now let me tell you how many medical colleges our PM Modi Ji sanctioned to Telangana. A Big Zero (sic).” Rao slammed BJP national president J.P. Nadda for levelling corruption charges against the TRS government. He tweeted, “Don’t be a Hypocrite @JPNadda. This is the shameful situation in BJP-Ruled Karnataka. Kaha Hain Aapke Allies CBI, ED? Rs 2,500 cr to become CM, 40% commission in Education, 40% commission from contractors, 40% commission in tourism, 30% commission for Grants to Mutts (sic).”
